Curriculum Vitae

Anja Jetschke has been a professor of international relations at the Department of Political Science at Georg-August University of Göttingen since April 2012. She is the director of Research Training Group 3209 of the German Research Foundation (DFG), China-GRASP: China’s Geoeconomic Rise and Accumulation of Structural Power, which examines China’s global rise. She served as Vice President of the German Political Science Association (DVPW) from 2016 to 2018, represented the DVPW on the Executive Committee of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) from 2021 to 2025, and was Chair of the International Political Economy Section of the International Studies Association (ISA) from 2024 to 2025. Since 2023, she has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Swiss Network of International Studies (SNIS).

Anja Jetschke earned her Ph.D. from the European University Institute in Florence in 2001. From 2001 to 2010, she was an Assistant Professor (C1) and a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Political Science at the University of Freiburg. In 2011, she initially took on the role of Academic Director, overseeing the academic leadership of the “Hamburg International Graduate School for the Study of Regional Powers,” and from 2012 to 2015, she led the research focus “Power, Norms, and Governance in International Relations” at the Leibniz Institute GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies in Hamburg.

Anja Jetschke's research focuses on the development and effects of the institutional design of international and regional organizations.
