With an academic ceremony on Friday, 23 May 2025, the Faculty of Business and Economics at Göttingen University bid farewell to its graduates of the winter semester 2024/2025. A total of 418 students graduated in the past winter semester. 201 of them completed a Bachelor's programme, 217 a Master's programme. 26 doctoral students successfully completed their doctorates during the past year. Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Claudia Keser welcomed the guests. Florian Wook spoke as a representative of the graduates of the winter semester. Dr Lena Schroeder, Head of HR Strategy & Governance at Genoverband e.V., also spoke as an alumna of the faculty. The "Florenz Sartorius Prizes" donated by Sartorius AG in Göttingen were also awarded during the event. The best graduates of the individual disciplines received a prize. The Faculty honoured Lennart Sörens (Master of Science in Finance, Accounting and Taxes) for his outstanding academic achievements in the field of business administration. Konstantin Pleßow (Bachelor of Science in Economics) was honoured in the field of Economics. In the field of Business Education, Debora Synofzik (Master of Education in Business and Human Resource Education) and Benjamin Johannes Springer (Master of Science in Business Information Systems) in the field of Business Informatics. The faculty also awarded the "Florenz Sartorius Prize", endowed with 1,000 euros each, for outstanding dissertations in business administration and economics. The Faculty awarded the prize to Dr Tobias Blay for his thesis on "Navigating the Future of Work: New Perspectives on Virtual Collaboration" in the field of business administration. His supervisor was Prof Dr Dr Fabian J. Froese from the Chair of Human Resources Management and Asian Business. In Economics, Dr Laura Barros was awarded the prize for her doctoral thesis "Socio-economic and political consequences of labor market shocks: Evidence from Brazil". The thesis was reviewed by Prof Dr Krisztina Kis-Katos from the Chair of International Economic Policy.
