How to apply
1. Admission Criteria for the Master Crop Protection
- A. Is your BSc degree acceptable for the Master Crop Protection? For admission a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural sciences, biology or a related discipline following at least 6 semesters with 180 ECTS at an accrediated University is required. Your Bachelor is relevant, if achievements in the field of plant sciences amounting to at least 60 credits, including 24 credits in crop production, plant breeding or plant nutrition, and 10 credits in phytomedicine (crop protection, phytopathology, agricultural entomology or herbology) have been completed.

EU and EEA applicants: You may apply with minimum of 150 ECTS completed to be stated on your transcript. The BSc certificate must be provided as soon as possible, latest 11 November).
2. Online Application
Please register and submit your application in the respective application period according to your home country:
Application for Non-Eu and Non-EEA Applicants 1 December 2024 to 1 March 2025
Application for EU and EEA applicants 15 April 2025 to 15 June 2025.
After online registration you receive a registration number and you can proceed with your online application.
Please fill in the application form and submit it. You will receive an email with information on how to upload the required documents, please check the link "Required documents ". If you want to apply for several master courses you only have to upload your documents once.
For applicants from China, Mongolia, India and Vietnam APS-proven academic transcripts and degree certificates are required.
If you have started or completed a Master degree program, you have to povide this information in the form "Information on Master Studies".
Before you submit the form and documents, you may please check if you have included all information relevant for your academic and professional qualification.
After submission no changes can be made. Only papers and certificates you upload before submission of the application will be evaluated. Documents added after the deadline will not be accepted.
3. Does early submission of the application give advantages?
No. All applications are collected until the deadline and all eligible applications evaluated.
4. Is it necessary to submit documents via post?
No. No document may be sent by post or email at that stage.
5. Selection procedure and admission
The selection committee will evaluate all applications. A ranking list is generated according
to the academic qualification (BSc grade and relevant experience) and motivation. The best applicants in the ranking will be selected amounting to fill 70 percent of places. The other 30 percent will be filled with candidates after having an interview to further assess the candidate's suitability.
When will you receive information about your application/rejection?
Please allow at least two months after deadline before expecting information about your application. Most likely late April/early May.
6. Acceptance of the study place
After submission of the letter of admission successful applicants have to accept the study place within 2 weeks. Please check your emails regularly.
7. Can you defer your admission until next year?
No, you can't. Your admissinion is only valid for the respective year you applied for. If you don't accept your place, you have to submit a new application for the next year. Please inform us as soon as possible, so the place can be offered to the next ranked applicant.
8. Do I need to provide savings for the visa process?
Students from outside the EU must obtain a visa for Germany, which among other documents requires the proof of financial support.
If you have no scholarship the Visa Authorities will request you to open a block account with minimum 11.208,- € to prove that you can pay for your living for the first 12 months during studies.
